Welcome! Purpose and Introduction!

Welcome to the Griffith Park Genealogy Page! (Click to read more of the introduction and welcome)

While the page is generally for beginning family historians, if you're more skilled, feel free to add to the content by leaving a comment on the entries for others to read in the future and expand the work of the Lord with your experiences.

While there has been much written on genealogy and there is info all over the web, this website is provided as a starting place for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Griffith Park Ward to start on their genealogy.  It is based off of experiences of beginning genealogists and is tailored to the purpose of finding names for submission to the temples for proxy work.

In the end there's no substitute for getting started and getting your hands dirty, but everyone has to start somewhere, hopefully this helps!  Genealogy requires research, requires learning, requires effort, requires time, and it is different for everybody - so you won't be in genealogy long without developing pushing yourself, teaching yourself, asking questions yourself, and turning to your father in heaven in order to accomplish this work.  But this website is here as a guide and answers many questions you may not know to ask.

To use the website:  Be sure to subscribe by email in the upper right to receive ongoing developments in your ward and stake's genealogy progress.

Also check out the labels on the right to search particular categories of topics, the Google Search Tool in the upper left to search for particular subjects in the blog, as well as some of the more commonly used resources on the right, or check out the software links for getting your own genealogy software to organize your family tree.

Then be sure to browse around and hopefully this sets you on your way!

May you be blessed as you do this work and find joy in serving the Lord and your ancestors.
